Robustness
Our experience is that FT-NIR technology generally functions accurately, robustly and well in a production environment. Despite temperature differences, vibrations or ambient light, this type of instrument continues to deliver reliable results. The maker of the Q-Interline Quant (ABB) has supplied a similar technology for the NASA Mars Exploration Rovers.
Modules
The Q-Interline Quant has the possibility to use different set-up sampling modules. We support the "Bottle Sampler", "Spiral Sampler" and the "Heatable Vial-holder". By choosing the right accessory, you can analyse your products as accurately as possible. For example, it is best to measure very heterogeneous coarse products with the “Spiral Sampler”, such as fresh silage products or roughage, due to the large cup and the very large scanning surface. The less coarse products, such as dairy products, animal feed and raw materials, can easily be measured on a "Bottle Sampler".
Also consider cleaning the instrument and cups after a measurement. In some cases, it can be useful if the cups can be put in the dishwasher, as is possible with the Bottle and Spiral cups.
NIR Calibration Models
For the FT-NIR systems such as the Q-Interline Quant , we can supply all kinds of different calibration models. Moisture, crude protein, crude fat, crude ash, crude fiber, starch, ADF, NDF, phosphorus, KOH protein solubility, etc. for a wide variety of products.
