Gross energy value
Animal feeds and animal feed raw materials contain a number of important energy sources. The most important are fats / oils, proteins and carbohydrates. Each energy source has its own specific gross energy value. The gross energy value of a product can be determined by determining the fat, protein and carbohydrate content with chemical methods. The gross energy of the product can be calculated on the basis of these contents.
Calorie / energy analysis
Another and faster way of determining the gross energy value is by incinerating the product under conditioned conditions in a closed oxygen-rich environment. The Bomb calorimeter is used for this. In principle, the gross energy of all organic products can be determined with this system.
The advantage of this method is that it is much faster compared to the individual chemical analyzes and gives the total gross energy. The principle of this method is based on the complete combustion of an accurately weighed amount of the product in an enclosed space. The heat that is generated during combustion is accurately measured. Based on these results, the gross energy of the sample can be determined. An additional advantage of this method is that, compared to the chemical methods, only small amounts of sample material are required.
Portal
With our Portal you always and everywhere have insight into your results. We have developed this tool together with our customers so that it supports your quality department, provides insights and makes it work more efficiently. As an example: you can create templates for your quality control and monitoring. Once set up, sending of these samples is done quickly and without errors.
You can also add guide values. This makes checking your results a lot easier and faster. You can see at a glance whether or not the results is within your target.
