Since when did you use the NIR-Cloud and how did you do your chemical analyzes before you started with the NIR-Cloud service from NutriControl?
For almost two years we have been using the NIR-Cloud from Nutricontrol, the last year of which has been intensive. Previously, samples were sent to an external laboratory on a regular basis to check our end products and raw materials.
What ultimately made you decide to use the NIR-Cloud?
Two years ago we built a new press line in our factory. Since the start-up of such an installation is not self-evident, it was decided to purchase a NIR device so that we immediately had an insight into the quality and stability of our feeds. In addition, we also found it important that we could check our incoming raw materials so that we can see whether they meet our purchasing requirements.
How long did it take for your company to get started with the calibration lines of the NIR Cloud?
Christiaan Kapper from Nutricontrol came to our office to deliver our new NIR device. He immediately made it operational and after this we were immediately able to start using the calibration lines offered from the NIR-Cloud.
Which calibration lines of the NIR-Cloud are most used in your quality control?
The most used calibration lines are those of our basic raw materials: soy, wheat, corn,… These raw materials arrive in the largest volume in our factory. Every load is checked, so the number of analyzes add up.
What is the biggest advantage for your business process with the implementation of the NIR cloud?
The biggest advantage of the NIR-Cloud is a direct control of our raw materials upon entry, so that they can be checked with our purchase requirements and existing feed matrixes. If certain deliveries do not meet the requirements, the alarm can be raised immediately and the necessary measures can be taken towards the supplier and the product.
What are you still missing and where do you see areas for improvement for the NIR Cloud?
What we miss most about the NIR-Cloud is a calibration line for fish meal. As this is a basic raw material for our fish feed factory, it would be useful to be able to analyze this immediately upon arrival.
