Food infection
Some types cause a food infection. This can be mild but also can cause Haemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). There are also E. coli bacteria that are useful in the human body. There are species in the colon that prevent the growth of harmful bacteria.
Hygiene indicator
coli can be used for animal and vegetable products as a general hygiene indicator and a possible faecal contamination in particular.
Analysis
NutriControl can determine the bacterial count of E. coli using a counting plate method. This analysis is performed in accordance with NEN-EN-ISO 16649-2. We can also determine the presence of E. coli using a border reaction method. This method is performed equivalent to NEN-ISO 11866-1.
