Salmonella spreads quickly through the faeces of the animals. Humans can also be carriers if they do not handle food and drinks in a hygienic way.
Analysis
NutriControl can determine the presence / absence of salmonella with various accredited methods. The most commonly used method with a lead time of less than 24 hours is the PCR method. The analysis is usually performed in 25 grams of sample material. It is even possible to perform this analysis in 1500 grams.
If salmonella is detected, a typing can be performed to determine which strain is involved. This is particularly important in the poultry sector.
