If these acids are formed by nature with the process of fermentation it’s possible that the acids that are formed during the process are unwanted. These acids are called Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) or volatile fatty acids (VFAs).
Analysis
Important organic acids are acetic, propionic, butyric, formic, lactic and valeric acids. NutriControl has methods for analyzing the acid, including the iso-forms, isobutyric acid and isovaleric acid.
