Analysis
In addition to sucrose, there are a number of other kinds of sugars such as fructose, maltose and lactose which are frequently found in foods. NutriControl uses a number of analysis methods for the analysis of mono-, di and polysaccharides and the analysis of total carbohydrates. These methods are based on HLPC-PAD or titrimetric methods such as the Luff-Schoorl. The Luff – Schoorl method is often used in the animal feed sector.
Alpha / beta ratio in lactose
Lactose (milk sugar) consists of a beta and an alpha form. For the use of lactose as a filler in pharmaceutical products, a correct ratio between these two forms is important. NutriControl has developed an accredited method to determine the relationship between these two forms.
Purity control of lactose
Lactose used in the pharmaceutical industry must meet strict purity requirements. NutriControl has developed methods that can determine the purity and any small impurities with other sugars.
