Development
GTH is a triglyceride that consists of three C7 fatty acids that are esterified with glycerol. GTH is very suitable for the role as marker due to the low toxic values and high stability. GTH does not occur naturally in animal by-products. In the past, under the name CCL B.V, NutriControl has been highly involved in the development and validation of the use of this marker.
Analysis
NutriControl uses an ISO 17025 accredited GC-MS method with which in addition to category 1 and 2 animal products also category 3 (absence of GTH) products can be analyzed. This makes NutriControl the only commercial laboratory in the Netherlands that can perform this analysis.
